SUNDAY JANUARY 27, 2019 | 1:00PM | part 1
MODERATOR: DAN DEL FIORENTINO | PANEL: DON LEWIS, MARK VAIL, NED AUGUSTENBORG, BRYAN BELL
The legendary Don Lewis provides a modern perspective on his contributions during the pioneering years of electronic music. Includes the world premiere of clips from the soon-to-be released feature film on Lewis’s life and career (TheBalladofDonLewis.com). A must-see for instrument designers, electronic engineers and musicians.
SUNDAY JANUARY 27, 2019 | 2:00PM | part 2
MODERATOR: NED AUGUSTENBORG | PANEL: DON LEWIS, DR. JOHN CHOWNING, IKUO KAKEHASHI
Don Lewis takes a hands-on approach as he plays, shares and reflects on a variety of synthesizers he voiced and programmed. Joining Lewis will be the Dr. John Chowning (Composer and Father of the Digital Synthesizer) and Ikuo Kakehashi (musician/instrument designer and son of Roland founder Ikutaro Kakehashi). A truly unique gathering for those interested in the development of such iconic instruments as the Roland TR-808, Yamaha DX- 7, and the creation of Lewis’ own invention – The Live Electronic Orchestra.
